About
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by:)
My name is Whitney Turner and I hail from the heart of the Great Plains-- Salina, Kansas! I am currently pursuing my B.F.A. in Musical Theatre and dance minor at Millikin University, where I am a current senior. After graduation, I plan on moving to Chicago and taking the industry by storm.
When not performing, you can find me catching up on the latest reality TV show, birdwatching, playing Prince's Purple Rain vinyl on my record player, hanging with friends, or FaceTiming my dog.
If you are looking for a fierce, high-belting powerhouse, stylized pop/rock vocalist, homegrown country ingenue, or energetic dancer in your chorus line, you've come to the right place!
I'm excited for the next stage of my life, and hope you become a part of this journey with me!
What am I up to?
Currently playing Vel in the world premiere musical "The Spell of Red River" by Brandon James-Gwinn and Ella Rose Chary at Millikin University
I will be heading to the Millikin Chicago Showcase April 17-19th
This summer, I am heading off to The Little Theatre on the Square for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, On Golden Pond, James and the Giant Peach, Schoolhouse Rock Live, School of Rock, Grease, and Nunsense

Choreography
Welcome to my choreo page! I am a trained dancer of 19 years who has had the privilege to teach students of all ages at local studios in Salina, KS and Decatur, IL, as well as choreograph for my peers during my time at Millikin. I have experience teaching a wide range of ages and skill sets, from 3 year-olds to college grads. I have taught classes focusing on ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, pre-pointe/pointe, pom/drill team, and modern/lyrical. I have choreographed for dance teams, studios, private lessons/solos, ensembles, and myself! I also love being a visiting masterclass instructor for local studios!
My senior year of college, I applied and was chosen as the Senior Choreographer for Solstice: A Concert of Dance in the Fall of 2023. It was an honor to work along side faculty as we held auditions for our select ensemble, in which my dancers were chosen from.
I would love to work with you and your dancers, whether as a guest choreographer or a studio staff member! Please download my resume for more information!
